The French DGSCGC (Direction Générale de la Sécurité Civile et la Gestion de Crise) has awarded the One Seven compressed air foam systems the "Sécurité Civile Française" certificate RT-PEREX-01.1. The background to this certification is to provide firefighters with the best possible protection against heat radiation, smoke ignition and flashover during indoor attacks. Therefore the French standard in accordance with the "Guide de Doctrine Opérationnelle" (national fire department regulations) stipulates that the extinguishing performance must be at least equivalent to that of a nozzle with a pure water flow rate of 400 l/min.
The particularity of the certification: One Seven compressed air foam meets the required extinguishing effect with a water flow of only 130 l/min. The compressed air foam produced in this way even achieved an even better extinguishing effect than 400 l/min of pure water.
On the one hand this low water consumption of the One Seven compressed air foam results in significantly less water damage in buildings and thus reduces follow-up costs for insurance companies and property owners; on the other hand the low water consumption offers advantages when only limited amounts of water are available – an important aspect in times of increasingly extreme droughts throughout Europe, especially when extinguishing wild fires in remote regions.
One Seven compressed air foam systems are the first extinguishing systems ever to meet this French standard. Furthermore this certification has scientifically proven that One Seven compressed air foam can more than replace water as an extinguishing agent.
